Occupational Health Program

A subset of UH employees and students are voluntarily enrolled in an annual Occupational Health Program (OHP) based on a series of risk assessments. At current, participants include the Animal Care Operations staff and the College of Medicine faculty, staff, and students.

UH Occupational Health Services will assess health risks through the review of individual risk assessments, work histories, possible physical assessments, and biological testing. This review will establish a baseline in order to monitor future health as it relates to occupational hazards.

Clinical Program

For those enrolled in the OHP, UH Occupational Health Services will review all enrollment paperwork, including any immunization documentation. Participants are offered medical surveillance and immunizations for worker health based on their work area, potential exposures, and any state or federal requirements. All occupational health-related clinical visits (e.g., physical examinations, immunizations, etc.) are approved and scheduled by UH Occupational Health Services at the UH Health Family Care Center or the Student Health Center & Campus Pharmacy. All questionnaires and exam records with personal health information are maintained according to federal and state guidelines.
