The Lantern UAS team was featured in Your UH Moment on 4 November 2019. 

Ben Rohrbaugh, David Hansell, and Rustam Niyazov, the investigator team with Lantern UAS, conducted a field test for their project "Exploring Homeland Security Applications for Unmanned Autonomous Systems at Maritime Ports" at the UH Technology Bridge on 24 October 2019. 

The team is researching the potential for utilizing systems based on UAS technology in order to contribute to several aspects of port security (including detection of radiation, stowaways, and seal tampering) with minimal impact on current port operations. The project is funded through the BTI Institute.
