Did You Know?

UHPD offers Security Escorts to students, faculty and staff that have safety concerns when making their way across campus. Either a UHPD Security Officer or Police Officer will escort a university community member to locations beginning and ending on campus. Contact UHPD at (713) 743-3333 if you need a Security Escort.


Safety Tips- Use these tips to stay alert and aware both on and off campus.

  • If you SEE something, SAY something! Many incidents can be avoided if someone steps up at the first sign of distress.
  • Let you friends and family know your plans. If you give them a timeframe, then they will know when to check in if they still haven’t heard from you.
  • Never leave your drink unattended or accept a drink from someone you don’t know. Date rape drugs are odorless, tasteless, and colorless.
  • Do not give personal information over the phone, through the mail, or over the internet unless you initiate contact.
