What is a student referendum?

A referendum is defined as “the principle or practice of referring measures proposed or passed by a legislative body to the vote of the electorate for approval or rejection” (dictionary.com).

Consequently, a Student Referendum is the opportunity for all UH students to vote for or against an initiative – in this case the UC Transformation Project.

SGA Bill Authorizing a student referendum

The Student Government Association voted unanimously on September 24, 2008, to support UB45007: A University Bill to Authorize a University Center Student Fee Referendum.
