Registering for the Placement Test

 MPT GUIDE LINK TEST

Q. How can I register for and take a math placement exam?

A. If you don't have an account, create one by registering at the CASA Registration Page. After creating your account, please wait approximately 24 hours for your eligibility to be approved (remember that the math placement exam is intended for incoming freshman students). After the 24 hour waiting period, please log in to your account and choose 'Math Placement' from the 'Course Listing' section. Within the 'Math Placement' section you will have access to practice exams, as well as topic-by-topic videos and quizzes to help you prepare for the placement exams. When you’re ready to take the test, select 'Online Placement Exams' and follow the instructions provided.

Q. I scored below 80% on the online Calculus 1 Placement Exam. How do I schedule a second attempt during orientation?

A. In your "Math Placement" account on CourseWare, choose "Schedule Exams" and follow the instructions provided. If you are already registered for a New Student Orientation conference, select the date corresponding to the first day of your conference, then select the 9:00AM time slot (unless instructed otherwise by an advisor).

Q. I scored below 80% on the online Calculus 1 Placement Exam and I was not able to take my second attempt during orientation. Can I reschedule my test at a later date?

A. Yes, in your "Math Placement" account on CourseWare, choose "Schedule Exams" and follow the instructions to make a reservation on one of the available dates shown.

Q. I get the following message when trying to register: "Unable to find your record in Class Roster sent to us by the University. Please try to register again tomorrow morning as we receive the updated Class Rosters every night" What should I do?

Sometimes switching the First Name and Last Name entries, or entering an alternate First or Last Name (such as a nickname, or including your middle name) can resolve the issue.
