Give to the Quad - University of Houston

Student Housing and Residential Life is adding a new residential community to the University of Houston in Fall 2020. The new building will be named The Quad after the historic Quadrangle residential area that opened in 1950. The Quad will feature suite-style living and townhomes, adding 1189 beds for UH students. Donors can support the Quad project by purchasing limestone cubes or mailbox doors from the Quadrangle area or by donating to the building's green spaces.

The money raised from donations will be used to develop and expand the courtyards and outdoor amenities for future students living in the Quad.

  • Limestone Cubes

The Quadrangle was home to thousands of UH Students during its sixty-eight years on the UH campus. Now you can own a piece of this historic building by donating to The Quad project.

This limestone cube (4.5x4.5 in.) is from the original Quadrangle. The limestone was mined from Indiana Bedford Limestone, a Mississippian grainstone. In 1950 it was used to build the walls, halls, and foundation of The Quadrangle. Each unique cube comes individually packaged with a felt base. The sedimentary nature of this stone means each cube is one of kind.

Get yours for a minimum donation of $250 (includes shipping and handling).

Cubes will be shipped every Friday beginning August 9 (excluding August 16) and standard shipping times of 5-10 days apply.

  • Mailbox Doors

Those who lived, studied, and socialized in The Quadrangle through the years have very strong ties and fond memories. These Quadrangle mailbox doors are the only remaining pieces of The Quadrangle which have both building name and room number. They are one of a kind and available on a first-come, first served basis.

Get yours for a minimum donation of $200 (includes shipping and handling) by following these steps:
