Facilities Services Safety Program

The mission of this program is to develop, provide and maintain a safe work environment for the Facilities Services staff at the University of Houston. Establishing and maintaining a safe work environment will facilitate and foster continuous productivity by the reduction of lost work days and or restrictions due to job related injuries.

The Facilities Services Safety program will engage our staff with:

  • written programs
  • personal safety tasks assessments
  • job hazard analysis
  • education
  • training

Our vision is to create a Tier One level safety culture within Facilities Services whose daily goal is No One Gets Hurt. We want to ensure that each one of our staff leaves work in the same condition in which they entered work.  We will create an atmosphere that reflects our core values of Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Accountability and Service of teamwork throughout this organization and within the safety program so that our staff will take responsibility for their safety and everyone around them.

Our commitment is to empower our staff so that all employees can report anything that appears to be unsafe without the fear of reprisals. This will give us the ability to mitigate any hazards before they can cause injury to our staff.

The implementation of this program would create a Tier One cultural standard of safety within the Facilities Services department.
