German Program Scholarships and Awards
(2015-2016)

APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 23, 2016, 3 PM – Applications should be submitted to the main office of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages in 613 Agnes Arnold Hall.

TEXAS GERMAN ENDOWMNET SCHOLARSHIP ($300 - 700)

Will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated academic excellence in the study of German language, literature, and culture.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Enrollment in upper division German language, culture, film, or literature classes in the 2015-16 academic year.
  • Preference will be given to students who have declared majors or minors in German or German Area Studies or in the WCL German Studies concentration
  • Overall minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Minimum GPA in German of 3.0

Application:

GERMAN STUDIES EXCELLENCE AWARDS ($300 - 700)

One or more awards will be given to students who have demonstrated academic excellence in the study of German language, literature and culture.

  • Enrollment in German language, culture, film, or literature classes in the 2015-16 academic year.

  • Minimum GPA in German of 3.0

Application:

RODNEY KOENIG AWARD ($150)

Award recognizes outstanding academic performance in German language, literature, or culture classes. Candidates are nominated by German faculty.

Selection process: 
A faculty review committee will select recipient based on academic merit.

MAX FREUND AWARD ($100) 


Award recognizes outstanding academic performance in lower or upper division German language classes. Candidates are nominated by German faculty.
