The Department of Health and Human Performance sponsored the annual "Great Strides - Taking Steps to Cure Cystic Fibrosis" walk on Saturday May 17th 2014 at the UH main campus. The Great Strides 5k walks are held in more than 500 cities and towns across the country, about 200 of these walks were held on the weekend of May 17th and 18th.

Hundreds of people participated in the Great Strides walk at UH and raised $346,182 to help support life-saving research, quality care, and education programs. Across the country walkers have a national goal of raising $43 million to support the mission of the CF Foundation in 2014.
