UH Veteran Services has partnered with The PsychArmor Institute to provide critical education to Staff and Faculty so that they can effectively engage with and support Military and Veterans. The training termed “UH Green Zone Training” is a virtual training for UH Staff and Faculty. This training will equip Our Cougar Community with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully address the needs of our over 3000 military-connected students on campus.
Learning Objectives Include:
- Military and Veteran Culture 101.
- Academic Accommodations in Higher Ed
- Understanding characteristics of Student Veterans and some of the common challenges students may face.
- 15 things a Veteran Would want you to know.
- Developing Military Awareness on Campus
Upon completion of the Modules, staff and faculty will receive a certificate of appreciation and will receive the "Green Zone Trained” placard to display in your office. In addition, your name, title and office location will be added to the VS website so that our military-connected population can locate a Green Zone Trained Staff or Faculty member for support.

Green-Zone Trained Peers
If you are a student, student leader, student-worker, graduate assistant, or intern and would like to take the Green-Zone Training please click on the link below to register and complete the training. Upon completion, please fill out the Green-Zone Peer Training Agreement and stop by the office to pick up your laptop sticker and button.
