Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is the participating agency overseeing the Childhood Obesity Research Demonstration (CORD) project to provide guidance to the four project grantees (three community project grantees and one evaluation center grantee). The purpose of the CORD project is to build on existing community efforts to improve children’s physical activity and nutrition by identifying effective health care and community linkages to reduce childhood obesity. CDC will present the CORD project findings and recommendations as a Congressional report at the conclusion of the project.
