Foreign Accident

During the course of employment, University of Houston employees may need to travel internationally for business purposes. 

As workers' compensation does not insure while overseas, there is an option to purchase a policy for accidents or illnesses that happen while on business out of the country.

Information Needed

  1. Country/Region of destination
  2. Estimated length of trip in days
  3. Number of Faculty/Staff
  4. Number of students
  5. Number of non-employees (volunteers, chaperones)
  6. Campus
  7. Department name (exactly as it should appear on the premium allocation form)

 

Please note: This coverage is not automatically extended for every international business trip. It must be individually scheduled onto the policy.. Currently, only the University of Houston - Downtown and Bauer have opted into this feature. There is no accident or illness coverage purchased by the University for any other department. Please contact Risk Management with questions or for further details.
