About the Institute

The Hurricane Resilience Research Institute aims to be a national center of excellence in resilience advancing our nation’s ability to mitigate, assess, predict, protect, educate and recover from hurricanes and severe storms for the purpose of creating and sustaining resilient communities.

HuRRI is comprised of six Gulf Coast universities: Louisiana State University, Texas Tech University, University of Florida, University of Houston, University of Miami, and the University of Texas at Tyler.
