Substantive Change
SACSCOC member institutions are required to notify SACSCOC of changes in accordance with the substantive change policy and, when required, seek approval prior to the initiation of changes. Substantive change is a significant modification or expansion in the nature and scope of an accredited institution. Should a college, department, or program need to implement a substantive change, please contact the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to review the Substantive Change Policy and its subsequent impact on any planned changes. Please review the University of Houston: Substantive Change in Academic Programs Policy for additional information. Substantive Change in Academic Programs, University of Houston
