Mission:

Fire Marshal Division Mission Statement:

To prevent and/or reduce the incidence of fire by increasing the awareness and knowledge of the students, faculty, staff, and visitors respecting fire safety, and by ensuring compliance with all the fire safety codes adopted by the State of Texas and applicable regulations of the University of Houston. This mission will be accomplished through fire prevention education, fire investigations and compliance inspections.

 

Food Safety Division Mission Statement:

To prevent foodborne illness by educating food establishments and students, faculty, and staff on safe food handling practices and by ensuring that food items prepared and served are safe, unadulterated and prepared under sanitary conditions.

 

Vision:

The UH Fire Marshal’s Office aims to become the premier higher education fire marshal’s office in the state by meeting the needs of the campus community through the blending of good inspection practices, community outreach, fire safety education, and plan review. While maintaining current safety measures to meet the needs of an expanding Tier One University
