Key Audit Efforts Increase Safety

Key Access Services is a team of two who manage all keys across campus.

Although everyone has a Cougar Card and uses it at many entrances, we still have metal keys that must be distributed and managed.

During 2021, Key Access Services performed a feat of continuing the Key Audit process that began a few years ago. Program Manager Canon Wineriter began in January 2021 and was instructed that he and Program Coordinator Ana Sanchez would still need to have the key audit completed, even during a pandemic.

The key audit began in April and wrapped up in June. Facilities/Construction Management is pleased to report that there was a 90% department completion rating which is within the maintaining excellence standard.

Beyond reviewing the keys that have been distributed in the past, Key Access Services continued to distribute a record number during 2021, with specific highs during the months of July and August.

These two team members continue to help build the future of UH and support the safety and security of everyone on campus.

Facilities/Construction Management appreciates the participation from those who helped with this project and continue to help each year.
