Beginning Sept. 30 through mid-October, partial lanes between the Welcome Center Student
Garage and Welcome Center Garage will be closed due to ongoing construction efforts.
These closures will not close either garage; however they will limit access from Calhoun
and Campus Loop roads from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Weekend work from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
will begin immediately.
Metal mesh will be hung on the exterior of the Welcome Center Student Garage beginning
with stair tower B, on the northeast corner, and then follow with stair tower A, on
the northwest corner. Only one stair tower will be worked on at a time to allow for
the least amount of impact. Below are shown the configurations of the lane closures
for each scenario including barricades, equipment and directional impact locations.
A flagman will be onsite to assist with the flow of traffic.
Stair B work will re-route all exit traffic from the north exit gates to the Campus
Loop Road. All first floor traffic will be routed to the southwest exit gate. No thru
traffic will be allowed from Campus Loop Road to Calhoun Road.
Stair A work will limit entry to Calhoun Road and the Campus Loop Road southwest entry
points. All exiting traffic will remain the same. Also, construction will block part
of the Campus Loop Road and traffic will be controlled by flagmen.
