Scholarships
The Language and Culture Center (LCC) offers four scholarships. The scholarships acknowledge distinguished achievement and honor LCC leaders.
- Joyce Valdes Scholarship
- Joseph Davidson Scholarship
- Brad Powell Scholarship
- Joy Tesh Scholarship
Who is eligible?
Current LCC students in Levels 1 through 5 who plan to enroll for the immediately following semester.
Who is not eligible?
- Level 6 students
- past recipients
- students who have a scholarship or sponsorship from another source during the term of application
- students who owe money to the LCC or UH
How does a student apply?
Log in to the LCC Student System on the LCC website at LCC.uh.edu.
What is the first date to apply?
Monday of Week 8
What is the deadline to apply?
Friday of Week 9
Scholarships are awarded to students who show the following characteristics:
- academic excellence
- good class attendance
- participation in class and program activities
- leadership ability
- intercultural understanding
- positive interaction with classmates and teachers
Notes
- LCC scholarships are based on merit and not based on a student’s financial need.
- All applicants will be considered for the scholarships.
- Applicants must be present at the LCC Graduation Ceremony to receive the scholarships.
