Healthcare

I am sick. Is there a health center on campus?

Yes. The UH Health Center offers affordable and accessible quality primary medical and mental health care. Pharmacy services are available.

The UH Health Center only accepts the University of Houston System (UHS) Student Health Insurance Plan. If you don’t have the Student Health Insurance Plan, you may still seek care at the Health Center and pay out of pocket. Visit the Center’s website at uh.edu/healthcenter for further details.

What do I need to bring to seek healthcare?

  • Health insurance ID card. Carry it at all times!
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Cash and credit card

Where can I find my health insurance ID card?

If you have the Student Health Insurance Plan, download the UHC StudentResources app on the App Store or Google Play to get an ID card, find doctors, view claims, learn about coverage, and more.

I need to see a physician. The UH Health Center is closed. Where should I go?

Visit the AHP website at lcc.myahpcare.com, click Find A Doctor of Hospital, then click Places:

  • Primary Care Clinic: facilities staffed with doctors who can provide primary care for outpatients. Clinics are usually associated with a hospital or medical school.
  • Convenience Clinic: for simple problems or while traveling
  • Urgent Care Clinic: when you can’t wait for an appointment from a Primary Care Clinic.
  • Hospitals: Medical and surgical care, emergency room, and more
  • Specialty Centers: Dialysis, skilled nursing, physical therapy, and more
  • Labs and Imaging: Places for lab tests, screenings, X-rays, and scans
  • Medical Suppliers: Canes, hearing aids, prosthetics, home care, and more

I am having a medical emergency. What should I do?
