Timothy A. Burt
Research Assistant, CBL
Mr. Burt received B.Sc. degrees in Physics & Mathematics from the University of Houston (UH) in 2015. He then attended the University of Oklahoma (OU), where he received an M.Sc. in Engineering Physics in 2017, before returning to UH in 2018 as a Physics Ph.D. student. He has been a member of the Computational Biomedicine Lab (CBL) since 2019.
His Ph.D. research project is titled “Physics-based explainable multiplex networks: Application to the detection of illicit and counterfeit medicines.” The project goal is to develop approaches to identify, intervene, and disrupt networks that facilitate the procurement and sale of illicit and counterfeit medicines (ICM). His research interests include physics-inspired AI, computer vision, machine/deep learning, data science, and computational physics.(LinkedIn)
