Abraham Bautista-Castillo

Postdoctoral Fellow

Abraham Bautista-Castillo is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Computational Biomedicine Lab at the University of Houston, where he works at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biomedical engineering. He completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston in 2024, during which he was awarded the Presidential Fellowship twice by the University of Houston Graduate School and the College of Engineering. He previously obtained a M.Sc. in Electronics and Computer Science and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico), where he later served as a faculty member teaching and conducting research in engineering. His research interests center on deep learning–based clinical decision support systems, robotics, large language models, and causal and multi-step knowledge retrieval for improving pediatric healthcare and scientific question answering.
