MAPPs Reviewed During FY08 - 3rd Quarter

The following MAPPs were reviewed by the campus community during the 3rd quarter of FY08. Approved changes are located at the Official MAPP website.  This section displays the changes that were proposed during the quarter's review.  To view the submitted changes select each policy name. The column titled "Proposed Changes" briefly explains the changes that were submitted.

MAPP Number and Name Proposed Changes
MAPP 02.01.04 - Staff Performance Appraisals MAPP 02.01.04 was updated to remove reference to performance probation. A Performance Development Plan was outlined in Section X to address staff who rate in the lowest performance-rating category. The AVP for Finance replaced the responsible party. These changes were proposed by Human Resources.
MAPP 02.04.04 - Violence in the Workplace MAPP 02.04.04 was changed to correspond to Texas Penal Code §§ 46.03, 46.05. Previous response work groups were dissolved and a new Critical Incident Response Team was outlined. Section VII was removed, and the organizational structure was also updated. These changes were proposed by Human Resources.
MAPP 02.04.06 - Reduction in Force MAPP 02.04.06 was updated to reflect the current organizational structure of Human Resources. Section VII.C was removed, and Section VIII.B was changed to refer directly to the formal grievance procedures. These changes were proposed by Human Resources.
MAPP 02.05.01 - Access to/Maintenance of Personnel Files Section III.A.2 in MAPP 02.05.01 was edited to reflect current electronic practices. Section III.A.3 was added to assign responsibility to employees for the maintenance of specific personnel information via PASS. The organizational structure was also updated. These changes were proposed by Human Resources.
MAPP 05.01.01 - Cash Handling MAPP 05.01.01 was rewritten to align the policy with current practice. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 05.03.01 - Employee Financial Responsibility Reference to the online “Master Check List” PeopleSoft query was added to MAPP 05.03.01, and the organizational structure was updated. These changes were proposed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 05.04.05 - Reporting Indebtedness to the State Comptroller MAPP 05.04.05 has been submitted for its scheduled review. No changes were proposed. This review was performed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 05.04.06 - Bank Account Reconciliation MAPP 05.04.06 has been submitted for its scheduled review. No changes were proposed. This review was performed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 06.05.01 - Workers' Compensation Forms and department/organizational information were updated in MAPP 06.05.01. Section V.B.5.b was changed to remove the Student Health Center as an acceptable workers’ compensation clinic, and updates were made to Section V.B.7 that require eligible employees be automatically enrolled in FMLA after 3 days missed due to job injury. These changes were proposed by Risk Management.
MAPP 06.05.02 - Return-to-Work Program MAPP 06.05.02 was updated to include approval by the employee’s departmental supervisor, transitional departmental supervisor and the Claims Coordinator at various points during the return-to-work program. The organizational structure was also updated. These changes were proposed by Risk Management.
MAPP 12.02.01 - Data Coordination, Verification and Submission to the Office of Institutional Research (IR) MAPP 12.02.01 was updated to assign responsibility for the accuracy of the system’s information to the offices and staff who enter data into PeopleSoft. These changes were proposed by the Office of Academic Affairs.
