MAPPs Approved In Quarter 2, Fiscal Year 2010

The following Manuals of Administrative Policies and Procedures were approved by the President as official university policy on January 13, 2010 for Quarter 2, Fiscal Year 2010:
MAPP Number and Name Summary of Changes
MAPP 01.03.04 - Identity Theft New MAPP 01.03.04 was drafted to establish an Identity Theft Prevention Program designed to detect, prevent, and mitigate identity theft in compliance with the Federal Trade Commissionís (FTC) Red Flags Rule. This procedure was composed by the Office of Finance.
MAPP 02.01.04 - Staff Performance Appraisals MAPP 02.01.04 was updated to remove reference to performance probation. A Performance Development Plan was outlined in Section VIII to address staff who rate in the lowest performance-rating category. The AVP for Finance replaced the original responsible party. This policy was also reorganized to remove redundant language. These changes were proposed by Human Resources.
MAPP 06.03.01 - Asbestos-Containing Material Department/organizational information was updated throughout MAPP 06.03.01. A policy statement regarding required training was also included and legislative references were updated. These changes were proposed by the Office of Risk Management.
MAPP 12.03.02 - Substantive Change in Academic Programs The new MAPP 12.03.02 was written to provide policies and procedures for significant modification or expansion of an academic program, college, or institution within the University of Houston. The development of this policy was in response to a SACS observation and recommendation. This procedure was composed by the Office of Academic Affairs.
MAPP 14.01.01 - Campus Sustainability The new MAPP 14.01.01 was written to establish policies and responsibilities for the university's sustainability activities and initiatives. This procedure was composed by University Services.
