Adam Martinez, Ed.D.

Adam Martinez is the administrative director of Population Health Education at UH Population Health. He brings more than 15 years of experience in a variety of roles in higher education administration, program management, teaching and institutional advancement. He holds a doctorate in educational leadership with a specialization in higher education from Texas A&M University—Corpus Christi. He also holds a master’s degree from Rice University, and a second master's degree from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, as well as an undergraduate degree from the University of St. Thomas, Houston.

Martinez has helped design, implement and evaluate academic and professional development programs, and has been responsible for program marketing, recruitment and student mentoring. He has worked closely with cross-functional teams across campuses. Additionally, he has taught at undergraduate and graduate levels and has extensive experience working with faculty and academic leaders.

He lives in Pearland with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys staying active, participating in fitness and exercise, camping, biking and activities at the beach. He also enjoys reading, quiet moments and time spent with his wife and three daughters.

He currently serves on the board of directors of the Vic Coppinger YMCA, and previously served on the board of directors of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Houston Chapter.
