Guest Masterclass: Carolyn Huebl, violin

The Moores School of Music welcomes internationally acclaimed violist, Carolyn Huebl, who will be presenting a violin masterclass on January 30.

Violinist Carolyn Huebl enjoys a varied career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She is currently Professor of Violin at the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University and violinist of The Blakemore Trio. Prior to her appointment at Blair, she was Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Pittsburgh Symphony and Assistant Professor of Violin at Carnegie Mellon University. Critics have called her performances “unfailingly sensitive,” “utterly fearless” and “pristine,” and STRAD magazine declared that she “possesses a beguilingly warm sound and highly responsive expressive personality.”

Intimate confession is a project is a group exhibition that considers transmission, intergenerational life, and cultural inheritance through the prism of intimacy and infrastructure. Through the work of eleven artists spanning generations and geographies, the exhibition thinks through infrastructure as an intimate holding cell, capable of affective and affirmative power.

Guest Masterclass: Antonio Di Cristofano, Piano

The Moores School of Music welcomes internationally acclaimed pianist Antonio Di Cristofano, who will be presenting a piano masterclass in Dudley Recital Hall on January 30 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.

Antonio Di Cristofano regularly performs in major concert halls across the globe. He is also a frequent judge at international piano competitions, and has given masterclasses in dozens of cities, from Greece to China and beyond. When not traveling, he resides in his native Tuscan city of Grosseto, where he serves as the director of the Scriabin International Piano Competition.
