Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars
Message from the Chapter President
Dear Phi Beta Delta Member,
First, I want to express my gratitude for your support of Phi Beta Delta’s Delta Iota Chapter at the University of Houston. Membership fees help us continue to grow and do important work for the chapter and for the University. I also would like to share with you an exciting scholarship opportunity offered by our chapter this fall as well as encourage you to mark the calendars for the International Scholars Reception coming up on Thursday, November 17th.
UH Phi Beta Delta Scholarship
I am proud to announce that our chapter will be offering two $500 scholarships to UH students this fall. Priority will be given to UH Phi Beta Delta students. The application deadline is November 1. For more information and application requirements, please visit our scholarship page at http://www.uh.edu/phi-beta-delta/Scholarships/.
International Scholars Reception and International Education Week
Keeping with the tradition, our International Scholars Reception celebrating visiting international scholars at UH and highlighting some of their inspiring research will be held on Thursday, November 17th from 4pm to 6pm at the M.D. Anderson Library’s Elizabeth Rockwell Pavilion. This event is part of UH’s celebration of International Education Week - November 14-18. Please mark your calendar for this important event. We will be publicizing other events related to International Education Week very soon.
As mentioned earlier, membership fees are the primary source of funds that enable us to do the work of our chapter. If you have not already done so, I invite you to activate your membership and renew your membership for the 2016-2017 Academic Year by completing the membership renewal form.
In closing, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your chapter president this year and we always welcome your feedback and suggestions. Please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to seeing you on November 17th and during the International Education week!
