The University of Houston Computer Science Department has 27 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Selected members of our faculty have received the NSF Career award, served as president of the IEEE Computer Society, or served on the Board of the Computer Research Association (CRA). Computer Science at UH ranks in the Top 50 in the nation according to two objective ranking programs.
We offer Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Our department is committed to offering a stimulating program with strong emphasis on high quality, state of the art education and research in the highly diverse and cosmopolitan environment that the University of Houston and the city of Houston provide.
Ranking in Top 50
The Department of Computer Science is among the top 50 U.S. universities listed in the 2011 Academic Ranking of World Universities. In addition, the National Science Foundation’s Survey of Research and Development Expenditures at Universities and Colleges places UH’s funding for computer science in the Top 50. Only two Texas universities are ranked higher than UH.
