Coogs Abroad Alumni Reunion:  Thursday, August 30th

Rockwell Pavilion, MD Anderson Library, Time TBD

We invite all our former #CoogsAbroad to attend this annual alumni reunion where students can share experiences from their time abroad, discuss how to use their experiences on their resume and in job interviews, and learn new opportunities abroad perfect for a seasoned traveler. Special guests include  Peace Corps, University Career Services, the Office of National Fellowships and Major Awards, and the Global Guides. 

Learning Abroad Fall Fair:  Thursday, September 6th 

Student Center South Ballroom, 11am-2pm

Come out to the Learning Abroad Fall Fair to meet program providers, faculty leaders, scholarship representatives, exchange partners, and learn the many opportunities for you to go abroad! Free shirts to the first 100 students and lots of free giveaways from our partners! 

Scholarship Workshop:  Wednesday, September 12th

Student Center South Skyline Room, 3-4:30pm 

Want to go abroad but not sure how to afford it? Attend this scholarship workshop to learn more about scholarship opportunities that will help you on your way! 

Gilman Scholarship Writing Workshop:  Tuesday, September 18th 

UH Writing Center, 3-4:30pm

Applying for the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship takes two phenomenal essays, and we are here to help you make that happen! Join us as we partner with the UH Writing Center and teach you how to craft award-winning application essays. 

Critical Language Fridays: the first 3 Fridays in October

Fridays, October 5th, 12th, & 19th 

Language Commons in Agnes Arnold Hall, 3-4pm 

Join us for Critical Language Fridays where you will learn about the Critical Language Scholarship and the Boren Scholarship and Fellowship. Students who study critical need languages can apply to study for a summer or full academic year with these fully-funded programs sponsored by the Institute for International Education and the US Department of State. These three sessions are co-hosted by the Office of National Fellowships and Major Awards with the UH Honors College and Learning Abroad.
