Miguel Lopez is the director of honors relations at the University of Houston Honors College. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing various key areas, including managing alumni relations, coordinating Honors College events, facilitating reservations for honors spaces and engaging with donors and the community.Lopez joined UH in 2023, bringing with him four years of experience in marketing and communications. Prior to joining UH, Lopez served as communications coordinator at Texas Chiropractic College, communications and social media specialist at Lee College and community engagement specialist for the City of Baytown.
Lopez earned a bachelor's in strategic communication (summa cum laude) with a minor in law from the University of Houston. Additionally, he holds an associate's in English and Spanish from Lee College, where he was a member of the Honors program. A strong advocate for higher education, Lopez frequently presents research and serves as a speaker at higher education conferences, galas and symposiums across the country.
