The Language Acquisition Center (LAC) is a resource center for the students and faculty in the Department of Hispanic Studies and the Department of Modern and Classical Languages. We provide many tools for the study of world languages, literatures, and cultures, including computer classrooms, audio and visual equipment, and an extensive collection of foreign films.
The LAC will have reduced hours from May 11 - June 6 (when the summer hours will commence). We will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
In the spring of 2016, the LAC sponsored a Language Exchange event at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion as a part of Culture Connect Week. Read an article in The Cougar about the Language Exchange.
Faculty and representatives for language and culture-related student organizations can reserve LAC classrooms by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. 213 is a PC lab with video conferencing capability, and 215 is a Mac lab. To find out more about the features of each room, visit the LAC Interactive Learning Classroom page.
