University of Houston System Statement on SCOTUS DACA Ruling

On June 18, 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, will remain in place. DACA status protects people brought to the United States as children by shielding them from deportation and letting them work.

The University of Houston System has released the following statement on the court's decision:

We’re pleased with the ruling in support of our students, providing them continued opportunities for higher education, contributing to our workforce and becoming productive members of our communities.
