Moores Opera Center at The University of Houston presents the Houston premiere of Osvaldo Golijov and David Henry Hwang’s Ainadamar - a haunting reflection on the life of poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, whose politics and sexuality led to his brutal execution during the Spanish Civil War. Golijov’s Grammy award-winning cinematic score grabs you from the very first beat – weaving together influences from around the world in a mesmerising mixture of opera and the traditional song of Andalusia.

A pre-show talk with Moores Opera Center Artistic Director Lawrence Edelson and Conductor Steven Osgood will be held 45 minutes prior to curtain in Room 108.
