What is Convergence Research?

Are you a current University of Houston student or faculty member interested in learning how you can receive funding to research make your creative concepts a reality? Come enjoy an evening with individuals across the College of the Arts to share ideas and learn about Convergence Research, an experimental platform supported by the Mitchell Center and Blaffer Art Museum. Join us for an information session in the museum café followed by docent-led tours of the museum’s current exhibitions, featuring works by Leslie Martinez, Jacolby Satterwhite and Paul Anthony Smith.

Convergence Research is a collaboration between the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (CWMCA) and the Blaffer Art Museum. It is a platform for experimentation and research for students and faculty of all disciplines in the McGovern College of the Arts with the goal of creating more opportunities for connection between the disciplines. Convergence Research supports interdisciplinary inquiry and techniques to stimulate creative process and cultivate works that are performative, temporary and in any stage of process.
