Picnic by William Inge

Sunday, October 31, 2021

2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

The School of Theatre & Dance presents Picnic by William Inge. This event will be performed live and in person.

Directed by Brandon Weinbrenner, Guest Artist

This gentle American classic, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1953, takes place on Labor Day weekend in the joint backyards of two widows. One house belongs to Flo Owens, who lives there with her two daughters, Madge and Millie, and a schoolteacher boarder. The other house belongs to Helen Potts, who lives with her elderly and invalid mother. Into this female-dominated atmosphere comes a young man named Hal Carter, whose presence seriously upends the entire group dynamic.
