He received his doctorate in Art History from Columbia University, and is Professor of Art History at Kean University since 1990.Teaching the history of the modern and contemporary exhibitions for a museum studies program put him on the path to his acclaimed book Displaying the Marvelous: Marcel Duchamp, Salvador Dali and Surrealist Exhibition Installations.
