This year’s Sustainability Fest will take place at 11:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, at Butler Plaza. Volunteers are needed to help make the event a success.

Volunteers can sign up to help by completing the online volunteer sign-up form by Oct. 21. Shifts are available from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and include setting up, checking in volunteers and exhibitors the day of the festival, handing out event location guides, crowd control, manning snack, water and zero-waste stations, event breakdown and general event assistance.

Lunch will be provided to all volunteers, and training will be available on request. Those with specific questions about volunteering may contact the UH Office of Sustainability at sustainability@uh.edu.

Sustainability Fest is a zero-waste event that provides information about the latest developments in sustainability. Hosted by the Office of Sustainability, the event gathers campus and community organizers to engage attendees about sustainability-related topics through interactive activities and prizes. Last year’s Sustainability Fest saw more than 250 guests. That number is expected to double at this year’s festival.
