The call is going out for the University of Houston community to sign up to volunteer for the upcoming fall residential move-in.

Move-in will take place Aug. 20-22, except at Bayou Oaks and Calhoun Lofts, which will be on Aug. 16. Staff, faculty and students can sign up now to work a volunteer shift on as many days as they would like. Signing up to volunteer is easy and is done online.

Cougar Mover volunteers can choose from a variety of different volunteer positions, whether it is helping to unload belongings from cars, handing out water and snacks, or directing new residents on where to go. There’s also numerous other volunteer roles that need to be filled.

Around 8,000 students are expected to live on campus this fall, making UH one of the largest college residential communities in the entire state of Texas.

Cougar Mover volunteers allow new residents to feel the pride and spirit that is the University of Houston. A fantastic first impression will go a long way in helping them attain success.
