Important Resource Information

Did you know the back of your Cougar Card has important contact information and resources?

The back of your Cougar Card displays your UHID, the date your card was issued and your card number on the lower right side. On the left side of your card you have access to important resources like the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, the National Sexual Assault Hotline, the Crisis Text Hotline and Campus Police.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255 or 988)

The Lifeline provides 24/7 support for people in distress as well as prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.

The National Sexual Assault Hotline (1-800-656-4673)

The National Sexual Assault Hotline provides support, information, advice or referrals to those that have been affected by sexual violence.

The Crisis Texas Hotline (Text “Home” to 741741)

A crisis doesn’t just mean thinking about ending your own life. It’s any painful emotion and anytime you need support. The Crisis Text Line provides support to anyone, 24/7 in any type of crisis.

University of Houston Police Department (713-743-3333)

UHPD is committed to providing a safe environment for the UH community. UHPD offers a Security escort service which is designed for community members who have safety concerns and would like to have a Security Officer walk with them for their safety.
