Summary:

Barret: A flat Spanish cap of gorgeous material which was slashed, puffed, and embroidered.  (Related to the beret and the biretta.)

Bases:Sixteenth-century pleated skirts for men, worn separate from the doublet; cartridge-pleated; often associated with Henry VIII.

Breeches or hosen: Legcoverings, either cut from fabric or knitted, all in one piece.

Clog, chopine, or patten:Wooden-soled platform attached to shoe, worn as a protection from mud and to gain height.

Codpiece: A pouchlike appendage made form the same fabric as the jerkin or upper stocks and fastened by ties to buckles; a decorated covering for the opening in the front of breeches; forerunner of the fly.

Jerkin:A short velvet or leather jacket, usually sleeveless.
