Martindale, Andrew. Man and the Renaissance. Landmarks of the World’s Art Series.  New York: McGraw-Hill, 1966.  This volume is beautifully illustrated in color and black and white and covers European artistic development during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

Mates, Julian, & Cantelupe, Eugene, eds. Renaissance Culture. The Cultures of Mankind Series.  New York: Braziller, 1966.  An excellent compilation of writings from original sources on the Renaissance view of life and culture.

Mee, Charles, L., Jr. Daily Life in Renaissance Italy.  A Horizon Book.  New York: American Hertiage and McGraw-Hill, 1975.  A fascinating and useful book concerning all aspects of daily life in the Italian Renaissance with excellent illustration.

Norris, Herbert. Costume and Fashion: The Tudors, Book 1.  London: J. W. Dent & Sons, Ltd., 1938.  A very useful book, with some color plates and many excellent line drawings, diagrams, and patterns by the author that trace the development of clothing (primarily in England) during the reigns of Henry VII and Henry VIII.
