Friday, July 26th we hosted our second annual Back to School Block Party! We were
happy to continue our partnership with Boynton Chapel Methodist Church for an afternoon of snacks, giveaways and music. K-12 students* received free backpacks, school supplies,
snacks and dental kits. Plus, started the school year in good health with vaccines**
& $20 sports physicals. Free parking was available at the clinic, and our guests enjoyed
an afternoon of fun for the whole family!
* Giveaway items available on a first-come, first-serve basis ** Must bring proof of insurance or sign up for Sliding Fee Discount Program
The UH Health Family Care Center and Office of Government and Community Relations thanks all our guests, sponsors and participants who attended the Jolly Holiday Party.
We gave away wrapped gifts to children ages 0 – 18 and holiday meals kits to families! Flu
vaccines were available to children 18 years and younger, provided by our dedicated
physicians and staff on site. We were delighted to host this party filled with music,
fun and games for the whole family.
As the new school year approached, the UH Health Family Care Center, partnering with
Boynton Chapel Methodist Church, opened its doors and heart to the community with
its Back-to-School Block Party. The event offered families more than just school supplies;
it provided a day of fun, connection, and vital health resources in one of Houston’s
underserved neighborhoods.
At the UH Health Family Care Center, physicians and attorneys are coming together
with a shared mission: to treat not only the medical conditions of patients, but also
the legal and social barriers that can stand in the way of better health.
Thanks to a growing partnership between Blackshear Elementary School and the UH Health
Family Care Center, a new privacy banner now shields the school’s front gates—offering
students, staff, and families increased safety, dignity, and peace of mind.
