Robert Thrailkill (’82) currently holds a dual role as the vice president of Zachry Hotels and the general manager of the Hilton Palacio del Rio. Zachry Hotels owns and manages hotels in South Texas. Currently, Thrailkill is involved in the development of Zachry Hotels newest project, The Monarch San Antonio, a Curio Hotel. Scheduled to open in 2026, this 200-room project is part of a multi-million-dollar reinvention of the San Antonio downtown district, which includes The Alamo and Hemisfair Park.

Actively involved in promoting the hospitality industry, Thrailkill serves on several executive boards, including Visit San Antonio, the San Antonio Area Tourism Council, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and the San Antonio Centro Alliance Board. He is the former president of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association and in 2021, he was recognized with their Lifetime Achievement award. Thrailkill is also on the Texas Hotel Lodging Association Board of Directors.

A proud graduate of Hilton College at the University of Houston, he earned his bachelor’s degree in hotel administration. He currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board and is a member of Eric’s Club, where he also serves on their executive board. In 2021, the Hilton College Alumni Association recognized Thrailkill with their Distinguished Alumni award.

Originally from San Antonio, Thrailkill is married and the father of six children.
