In the words of one colleague, “anyone who knows Professor Hart marvels at his dedication to scholarship and at his immense knowledge of Mexican history, historiography and archives.”

The professorship is a five-year renewable award that carries a $10,000 annual stipend and is given to faculty who are outstanding in teaching, research and service.
