Modern Campus CMS Training and Access:

For formal training towards accessing and using the UHS/UH Modern Campus CMS, please contact Kyle Stehling and/or Deana Kreitz in Marcom's Web and Digital Strategy team. The following training information is subject to change by the Web and Digital Strategy group  [aka the Web Marketing group]:

Generally speaking, Modern Campus training sessions are offered once a month according to a "1st Thursdays" and "1st Fridays" plan. Exact dates may vary to accommodate holidays or other events. Training sessions are not designed for spontaneous "drop-ins". Always contact Web Marketing to be included and/or for exact scheduling information.

• The Modern Campus Basics training is generally offered on the first Thursday of a month, and usually runs 9am through 11am. The Basics training enables users to be set up to do basic content editing for existing materials, and to upload files if authorized.
• The Modern Campus Advanced training is generally offered on the first Friday of a month, and usually runs 9am through noon. The Advanced training enables users to create new materials and engage in other more advanced editing actions according to their departmentally-authorized level of abilities in the CMS.

Individuals are asked to have a fundamental familiarity with the Modern Campus CMS interface before attending their first formal training session.

Peruse the beginners' tutorials from the Modern Campus website.
Look for: Content Editor Tutorials.

Many of these beginning tutorial videos are less than 5 minutes long. Many of the tutorials run only 3 to 15 minutes, and should help you become familiar with the basic interface and editing tools.

Please remember that these are very general tutorials, and the specific University of Houston and University of Houston System Sites in Modern Campus have been customized specifically for our university.
