July 21, 2022
The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services would like to recognize two staff members who have been named Golden Paw Employees of the Month.
Andrea Trevino from the Student Centers was selected for July 2017 and was nominated for her ability to take initiative and commitment to helping others:
Andrea went above and beyond in July to manage the many different contracts for the Student Centers and to ensure that services and products were purchased by the end of the fiscal year. This positively impacted the division and the university by helping us to be the best stewards of the student fee dollars and is in alignment with the strategic initiative that focuses on enhancing the student experience through fiscal resources. Not only has she done this work, but she went above and beyond by documenting the steps it took to move these contracts forward and created a training manual so that others faced with a similar task will have a reference to use that should make their path easier.
Guillermo Flores from the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life was selected for September 2017 and was nominated for his leadership during Hurricane Harvey and for his ability to adapt to the needs of students on campus:
Recently, the campus was dramatically impacted by Hurricane Harvey flooding. As the on-site staff member for CFSL, Guillermo went above and beyond the call of duty. Guillermo helped to evacuate Bayou Oaks during flooding, and continued to remain on-site with students when other DSAES staff were not able to be on campus. He pulled together Bayou Oaks leadership to keep them informed and keep their spirits up during their displacement. Guillermo helped us to managed this crisis incredibly well and we are very proud of the work that he did.
Please join us in congratulating Andrea Trevino and Guillermo Flores on receiving the Golden Paw Employee of the Month Award.
Any member of the UH community can nominate any full-time employee within the DSAES to receive The Golden Paw. This award seeks to recognize the fantastic work being done year-round as we promote and maintain student success. Nominations are due by the fourth Wednesday of every month.
