Lindsay Barber joined the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services as the new associate director of the Health Center on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. In her role, Lindsay will supervise the customer service staff and provide assistance to the executive director. She will work directly with clinical and administrative staff to ensure patients receive the most comprehensive health care experience. Lindsay will be tasked with making decisions about the strategic plan that support the Health Center’s mission to keep students healthy so they may achieve their academic goals.
Lindsay most recently served as the manager of Volunteer Services at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in Houston, where she managed a group of 75 active hospital volunteers, as well as developed and managed a junior volunteer program for high school students in the community. She also assisted senior leadership with strategic planning and employee safety measures for the facility.
Lindsay moved to Texas from Michigan in 2012. Prior to that, she worked as clinical manager of Main Street Family Practice in West Branch, Michigan for 5 years. Lindsay was involved in multiple areas within the medical practice, including patient service, employee relations, and strategic planning. During her tenure at Main Street Family Practice, Lindsay successfully transitioned the practice from paper charts to a new electronic medical records (EMR) process.
Lindsay received her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Commercial Recreation and her Master of Science in Administration-Health Care from Central Michigan University. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
