Oct. 16 – Earlier this semester, the Children’s Learning Centers (CLC) launched a new awards program designed to honor staff members who exemplify the Center’s commitment. The awards recognized the ongoing contributions to excellence that members of the University of Houston community put forth each day.

CLC provides exemplary early childhood education for the children of students, staff, and faculty at UH by offering a model program tailored to ensure the quality of a child’s daily experiences while building a foundation for future learning. The CLC has two convenient locations on campus with a combined capacity of 221 children. The department currently has 30 full-time staff and over 50 part-time staff, including student employees.

This award recognition program was modeled after the Division of Student Affairs professional development awards program. Any CLC staff member was eligible to nominate someone who embodies the message of an award. All nominees reflected the overall mission and vision of the Center while making an outstanding contribution to our collective goals and were voted on by a committee of CLC stakeholders, which included parents, CLC Advisory Board members, and the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs-Student Life.

Last month, the Children’s Learning Centers at UH announced the winners of their first awards program in their September newsletter. Please see below for a full list of the award categories and nominees:
