Call & Response: Final Performance

“Call and Response” is a collaboration between the Hines College, the Moores School of Music, and guest artists Alex Julyan (visual art) and Stephen Montague (music). Sponsored by the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, this project is designed to create an ongoing dialogue between students in architecture and music.
Through November 24, in collaboration with Julyan, an architecture studio will construct a large installation in the atrium of Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design. In collaboration with Montague, student composers will write musical responses to each stage of the installation’s construction.
Throughout the collaboration, AURA and other MSM musicians will perform the composer’s responses to the installation in the architecture building lobby. Architecture students will in turn construct the next stages of their installation as a response to the music.
The project will culminate in a final performance on Sunday, November 24 at 6:00 p.m.
