Michael Eric Dyson is a Distinguished University Professor at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Dyson has authored over 25 books, including the New York Times bestsellers Jay-Z: Made in America (2019), Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America (2017) and The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race (2016). In addition to his academic and writing pursuits, he is also a leading public intellectual, known for his thought-provoking insights on race, social justice, and contemporary culture. Dr. Dyson holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Princeton University.
