The State of American Democracy with Adam Kinzinger
Wednesday, November 13, 2024
4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger will recount his time in Congress and share his hopeful vision for the future of the country at 4 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the Rockwell Pavilion at the M.D. Anderson Library.
The former Illinois congressman was one of two Republicans to serve on the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol. Kinzinger will draw from his six terms in the House of Representatives, expanding on his feelings of dissent as he stood against his party and detailing his perspective on a democracy under siege.
He will discuss his book, “Renegade,” a New York Times best-selling memoir reflecting on his life in public service.
His campus visit is part of the Future of American Democracy lecture series hosted by the Elizabeth D. Rockwell Center at the Hobby School of Public Affairs.
